If you have never heard of the Thanksgiving Proclamation I hope you will look it up and read it as a family in its entirety as a part of your Thanksgiving festivities. It is inspiring to remember why the fathers of this great nation unanimously voted to set a side a day of Thanksgiving to God. The Thanksgiving Holiday was not established just so families could gather for turkey and pie. It was set as a day for us to always remember our duty to God, to acknowledge and give thanks for all His blessings and to implore His protection and favor. “For without God liberty will not last.” Our founding fathers new this was true not only for our nation but for all nations. May we also come to know this and acknowledge the providence of Almighty God.
