What would our lives be like without Jesus Christ? Have you ever pondered this question?

Russell Nelson taught,

The more you learn about the Savior, the easier it will be to trust in His mercy, His infinite love, and His strengthening, healing, and redeeming power. Your growing faith in Him will move mountains—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in your lives. Your flourishing faith will help you turn challenges into unparalleled growth and opportunity.”

Our guest, Jacob Cochran, will help us understand our need for a Savior so that it will be easier to trust Him and grow the faith we desperately need to move the mountains of difficulty in our lives.

Is it really possible to give thanks in all our circumstances? What about the times when everything seems to be going wrong in our lives?

Dieter Uchtdorf explained that,

“Being grateful in times of distress does not mean we are pleased with our circumstances. It does mean that through the eyes of faith we look beyond our present-day challenges.”

“True gratitude is an expression of hope and testimony. It comes from acknowledging that we do not always understand the trials of life but trusting that one day we will.”

Our guest today, Lori Marett, will share her experience of losing her husband to a terminal illness and how gratitude helped her feel God’s love and peace in the midst of her afflictions.

We live in world where more and more people struggle to feel joy in their lives. Family values are rapidly declining and are viewed as old- fashioned.

We want our children to experience joy. But without values to guide our children’s decisions, joy will elude them.

Can joy be taught? Is it a choice or a condition experienced on rare occasions?  And how do you teach to children of varying ages without it becoming a lecture?

Our guest, New York Times bestselling author and world renowned speaker, Linda Eyre, will help us answer these questions.

At the end of your life what will you regret? Will it be not having the big house, or the nice car you always dreamed of?

David  McKay taught that, “No success can compensate for failure in the home”

Most of our regrets and guilt will not come from our lack of achievements, success, or possessions, they will come form our inadequate efforts within our family relationships.

Our Families have the potential to bring greater joy into our lives than anything else.

What can we do to stop the breakdown of family relationships and facilitate greater joy and peace.

Our guest, New York Times bestselling author and world renowned speaker, Linda Eyre, will help us answer that question.  She teaches, “The bottom line is we must turn our hearts to our children and our families. …Strong families are still attainable, but only by parents who passionately pledge themselves to doing what it takes to build and bolster, to protect and prioritize their families—only by parents who consciously set out to make their family culture stronger than peer culture, the internet, the media culture, and all other cultures that swirl around their children.”

Today there will be much talk of women in high places, power suits, high-heels, and history in the making.

It’s monumental. It’s never been done before.

The message of empowering women is good.

But I believe women have always ruled the world.

Creators and shapers of humanity long before politics.

While I respect those climbing the rungs on the ladder of history, I hope my daughters remember that today nothing about womanhood has fundamentally changed.

They have always had power to change the world.

Our guest Tiffany Braithwaite taught this in a recent post on Facebook,

Today she will take us further, helping us step into our divine role as women to be creators and shapers of humanity.

Stay with us I believe you will be inspired.

Did you always want to be a Mom? When you held your new baby for the first time, you felt immense joy and hopeful anticipation of what this new adventure would bring. Then, the realities of motherhood began to settle upon you: fatigue, endless responsibilities, and feeling you no longer had control over your own life. During such times, it is not unusual to wonder where all the joy went.

Christianity teaches that motherhood is the highest and holiest of callings. And yet we are human and only beginners in learning how to be mothers. The gap between that which truly is wonderful and fulfilling and those things which push us to our mortal limits—physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually can be wide. How do we close the distance and find joy in the midst of the challenges that come with motherhood?

You will love our guest, Jessica Clayton, as she tells her story of navigating the roller-coaster ride that motherhood can be, including feelings of inadequacy and failure. Listen, as she shares the principles that helped through those emotions and become passionate about motherhood. Her insights can help mothers expand their vision and find more joy in motherhood, regardless of their age or stage of life.

David McKay taught,

“Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother’s image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child’s mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness the first assurance that there is love in the world.

“[The] ability and willingness properly to rear children, the gift to love, and eagerness … to express it in soul development, make motherhood the noblest office or calling in the world. She who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions deserves the admiration and the plaudits of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy, beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, … deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God” (David O. McKay, Gospel Ideals, 453-54).

Have you ever felt it was your responsibility to fix or make everything all better for those you love? Have you felt frustrated when your efforts to do so are rejected or met with resentment?

Today, we are going to learn about a skill that is like magic in relationships: validation. Many times, the negative behavior of others arises because we fail to understand and adequately validate their underlying feelings, needs, and desires. We jump quickly into the advice-giving mode, the correction mode, or we take on the role of fixer and problem-solver. Those knee-jerk reactions can prevent emotional connections that are critical to healthy, family relationships.

Our guest, Gary Lundberg, will illustrate how validation, a simple yet profound communication tool can strengthen any relationship and foster greater emotional connection.

Gary with his wife Joy, are authors of five popular books on relationships:

• I Don’t Have to Make Everything All Better: Empowering others to solve their own problems while enriching your relationships

• Married For Better Not Worse

• Meeting Amazing Grace: Wisdom for All Families and In-laws, (a novel based on true stories)

• Love That Lasts: 14 Secrets to a More Joyful, Passionate, and Fulfilling Marriage

• Because We Love Our Marriage: 12 Ways to Safeguard Your Eternal Relationship.

This podcast is for everyone. Guest Rhyll Croshaw has had vast experience establishing and maintaining boundaries and helping women all over the world do the same. She applies the process of setting boundaries and surrendering to God to all family relationships and aspects of life.

Setting boundaries with a spouse, child, or relative enables us to have real power over the chaos that can sometimes occur in marriage and family relationships and creates safety for those involved. When we don’t have boundaries, we risk being controlled and manipulated. Boundaries foster respectful and emotionally healthy relationships which can generate more joy and peace in our homes, and empower us to love ourselves and others more.

If you have struggled with setting boundaries in your marriage or have struggled with the effects of pornography in your home. I suggest reading Rhyll Croshaw’s book, “What can I do about Him? Me?” It is a great resource to help you find tools to overcome the effects of pornography in marriage and to find healing for yourself and your marriage. You can find it at: https://salifeline.org/ Also salifeline.org can be a game changer for those with these kind of challenges.
